The National Club

Founded in 1874, the National Club is one of the oldest private clubs in Toronto. Wanting to attract the next generation of members, Figure3 was tasked with modernizing the appearance of the club, while simultaneously preserving its historic significance as a designated heritage building.

Figure3 struck a balance between the existing ambiance of the club, with the functional requirements to modernize and grow. A number of the club’s hotel suites were beautifully renovated, as well as the existing billiards room. Figure3 also designed the club’s featured restaurant, the 1874 Bar & Grill. The new, open-concept design puts the kitchen on display bringing a fresh and animated approach to the dining experience.
